RE: Lifting Pullrite Superglide out of truck

Well I like some of the Ideas. I have tried a few of them in past two years. I have the removable rails and if you do not pick it up just right it gets wedged. My F350 has a high back end (one day I will lower it) and the hitch weight is all in the front side. So any slack on hoist lines on the one side cause it to bind on the way up. I also tried leaving it on the trailer. Better but the trailer side dips on the way up and causes it to bind. This fall I plan on using a pry bar to block the hitch out of the pins/rails and then use the trailer to lift it out. I then use the forks on my tractor to put it on a skid and place it under the camper for safe keeping.

RE: Tonneau cover clearance

I just added a cheep Extang cover to my truck. I have to be careful on uneven turns because of the electrical box on the back of the hitch hitting the cover rails. If had the extra $$ I would have gone with the Truxedo but was $400+ around here.

RE: What size 5r Battery

As large as you can get if you only get one. On our old Jayco it had a box near the rear of the unit. Could not add a second as it was built in with a pull out tray. It shipped with a #25. When the converter cooked itself and the battery I upgraded the battery to a #27 and added a new converter with the battery monitor so it would not cook the second one.

RE: Question on Super Glide hitch

I use the slip plate on the rails and silicone spray on the plate. No issues. I redo the rails once a year.

RE: Wireless Back-up Cameras

Well, I installed one i got for Christmas last weekend. I have not used it on the road yet but I think it is snowy at best. The distance is just too long for a really clear picture. With the truck door open and the antenna as far forward as I can get it it comes in clear. If I had to do it again I would get a good Wired system and mount it up high. Good luck.

RE: How often do you check lug nut tightness?

Steel wheels. I check my lugs every spring but in general every trip or every other trip if they are short. I check the tire pressure every trip. I check closer if the wheels have been pulled for some reason. I just use a wheel wrench - nothing fancy. The thing to wonder is I almost never check them on my truck :E

RE: Wildcat, Sabre, Cougar Help Me

I have to agree that Wildcats are not really made for full time. Not to say you can't make it work but I think you would be wise to look over the 5th wheel really well and make sure the dealer fixes everything correct. As far as the radio/etc unit. I have heard of them being bad or just a bad connection to the unit. We have had our Cat for over 3 years and it serves us well. Modifications here or there and back to the Dealer ever other year for service. I just wish we had more time to use it.

RE: where to put your spare tire??...on the back bumper,??

We have a pass thru in the back of our 5th wheel. It is stored in the middle since I can normally reach that area anyway.

RE: JT Strong Arm, any install tips

Got ours today. I have no idea when I will get it installed. I still have the fan covers to install from 3 years ago. ;)

RE: Speeking of flashlights

Just Got a new Mag lite with the built in LED. Works nice. Has good distance. some LED lights are only good for close up but the One that came in the Mag lite has good distance and adjustable. The spare is a regular bulb :(
